How MyFinalVideo works
You record the message. We keep it encrypted, check on you at the interval you choose, and deliver it only after your emergency contact confirms.
Current status: check-in and delivery emails are paused while our email provider is being finalised. You can create an account and record and store encrypted messages now; check-ins start once email delivery is switched on.
In short: record or upload a video, add up to three recipients, choose a check-in interval and an emergency
contact. If you stop answering check-ins, your emergency contact is asked to confirm. Only after that confirmation and a 48-hour
cooldown are your recipients sent a private link that works for 90 days.
Step by step
- Create your account. Start with a 14-day free trial that includes one video.
- Record or upload. Record in your browser or upload an existing video (up to 500 MB). The video is encrypted in your browser with AES-256-GCM before upload.
- Choose recipients. Add up to three recipients per video. Each video can go to different people.
- Add an emergency contact. Someone who can confirm what happened to you. They are only contacted if you stop answering check-ins.
- Pick a check-in interval. Anything from one month to eight years. Optionally choose a yearly date (a birthday or anniversary) to hold delivery until.
- Answer check-ins. Open the link in the check-in email and submit the short confirmation form. That confirms you are well and resets the cycle; opening the link alone does not count.
What happens if you stop answering

Safeguards
- Confirming a check-in, even late, cancels a pending release.
- Recipients can report a message they believe was sent by mistake.
- A false dispatch is still possible with automated systems, and delivered emails or downloaded copies cannot be recalled. Record only what you are comfortable being delivered.
Security in one paragraph
Encryption happens in your browser before upload. Keys are protected with Google Cloud KMS. To let recipients open a video without an account, the server re-wraps the key for their private link, so MyFinalVideo is not an absolute zero-knowledge service.
