# MyFinalVideo — Technical Reference

Updated for the local implementation on 2026-09-15. This describes code behavior; deployment and operating-company details require separate verification.

## Encryption

Videos are encrypted in the browser before upload. The server stores encrypted video and KMS-protected dispatch material. Recipient delivery uses server-assisted key re-wrapping. This is not an absolute zero-knowledge architecture. No independent third-party audit or public source-code license is claimed here.

Password recovery does not recover old owner keys. Vault erasure must complete before a password reset succeeds. Deletion is retried if storage is unavailable or a signed upload URL is still valid. Storage versioning, soft-delete and backups have their own retention periods; immediate physical destruction is not promised.

## Release rules

While email delivery is enabled, initial checks are followed by reminders at days 7 and 14, a warning at day 21 and emergency-contact escalation from day 22. Day 29 without a response requires review and does not establish death. Explicit emergency-contact confirmation starts the configured cooldown (default 48 hours). Any chosen annual date further delays release. An alive confirmation cancels pending release; it cannot recall delivered mail or copies already downloaded.

Email delivery is disabled by default and remains paused at the owner's request. Re-enabling requires a reviewed fresh check-in cycle; old silence must not be treated as fresh evidence.

## Storage and operations

The repository declares Google Cloud Run, Firestore, GCS and KMS resources. Successful dispatch starts the 180-day post-dispatch cleanup period. A message awaiting its first dispatch is not eligible merely because the death-confirmation date is old. Failed/ambiguous delivery remains pending review.

Ongoing funding, maintenance, provider availability and recovery procedures are required. A 100-year prefunded reserve and guaranteed operation duration have not been established. The service is for personal messages and is not a legal will or medical directive.
