About MyFinalVideo
MyFinalVideo helps you leave video messages for the people you love, and makes sure they arrive only when they should.
MyFinalVideo (myfinalvideo.com) is a digital legacy service for recording private video
messages, encrypting them in your browser and delivering them to recipients you choose after missed proof-of-life check-ins and
confirmation by your emergency contact. The service was previously called MyFinalMessage (myfinalmessage.info).
Why we built it
Most families have no recording of the words they will miss most. A will divides property; it does not say "I am proud of you". MyFinalVideo exists for that second part: the voice, the face and the words that should reach someone at the right moment.
What we promise, and what we do not
- Encryption first. Videos are encrypted in your browser with AES-256-GCM before they are uploaded. Keys are protected with Google Cloud KMS.
- No release on silence. Missed check-ins start an escalation. A message is released only after your emergency contact confirms and a 48-hour cooldown passes.
- Plain limits. Recipient delivery uses server-assisted key re-wrapping, so this is not an absolute zero-knowledge design. Automated systems can make mistakes. No guaranteed operating period is offered. We say this up front.
- Not a legal document. MyFinalVideo is for personal messages, not wills, medical directives or legal instructions.
How the service runs
MyFinalVideo runs on Google Cloud (Cloud Run, Firestore, Cloud Storage and Cloud KMS). Payments are handled by Dodo Payments as Merchant of Record. The web app is available in 13 languages. The technical reference describes exactly how encryption, check-ins, release and deletion work.
